The primary purpose of this position is to perform Plumbing and HVAC Estimating (with an emphasis on piping). Projects and controls construction costs by collecting and studying information.
Duties:
- Develop relationships with Owners, Engineers, C', Architects, Vendors, Subs & G'
- Provide support for Project Management throughout the performance of the project (change orders, questions, scope issues)
- Prepare for and participate in turnover process
- Strong acumen for Value Engineering
- Attend bid verification or de-scope meetings
- Produce RF'
- Careful review of plans and specifications
- Soliciting vendors/subs, attend pre-bids, plan take-off, final pricing, preparation of proposals
- Produce a variety of estimates including budgeting, conceptual, GMP, Hard Bid (Plan and Spec)
- Customer focused
- Team oriented
- Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
- Familiarity with computer estimating programs - Quotesoft experience preferred
- Experienced user of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Knowledge of specialty/process piping such as medical gases, specialty gases and acid waste
- Strong pipe estimating skills
- Thorough knowledge of commercial/institutional/industrial plumbing systems
- Minimum 5 Years commercial/institutional/industrial plumbing estimating experience
- Minimum 1 Year commercial/institutional/industrial HVAC piping estimating experience
Employee Relevant Work Experience 5+ to 7 Years
Education Level -High School or equivalent
Career Level -Experienced (Non-Manager)
